5-1. Beginner’s Model Course (90 minutes to 2 hours)
A visit to Naiku Shrine of Ise Grand Shrine typically takes about 90 minutes to 2 hours. First-time visitors can easily navigate this model course.

1.Start from Uji Bridge (entrance)
2.Purify yourself at the water basin
3.Prepare your mind and body at the Isuzu River purification area
4.Pray at the main shrine (express gratitude)
5.Make a personal wish at the Aramatsuri-no-miya shrine
6.Receive a Goshuin (seal) and amulet at the Kagura-den (sacred dance hall)
7.Return to Uji Bridge

Estimated time: 90 minutes to 120 minutes
This course covers the basic route and important spots, making it easy for beginners to navigate without getting lost.

5-2. Efficient Route (Uji Bridge → Main Shrine → Aramatsuri-no-miya shrine)
To efficiently visit Naiku Shrine of Ise Grand Shrine, it’s important to follow the correct order of worship.

🔸Basic Route
・Uji Bridge → Main Shrine → Aramatsuri Shrine → Kagura Hall

This order has meaning.
・Main Shrine: A place to offer gratitude for daily peace.
・Aramatsuri Shrine: A place to ask the gods to hear more specific requests and your own resolutions.
In other words, the correct way to worship is in the order of “gratitude → requests.”

Also, following basic manners, such as avoiding walking in the center of the path (as it is considered the gods’ path), will lead to a better worship experience.

5-3. Shortened Route for Those with Limited Time
If you have limited time, a shortened route that can be completed in about 60 minutes is also available.

1.Uji Bridge
2.Water Basin
3.Visit Main Shrine only
4.Return directly

Estimated Time: Approximately 45-60 minutes

Even with this route, you can still properly visit the most important shrine (Main Shrine) of Ise Grand Shrine’s Naiku Shrine.

🔸Tips for a Shorter Visit
・Add a visit to Aramatsuri-no-miya if time permits
・Decide whether to get a Goshuin (temple/shrine stamp) based on the crowd situation

5-4. Time Required for a Relaxed Visit
If you want to fully enjoy Ise Grand Shrine’s Naiku Shrine, a stay of 2-3 hours or more is recommended.

・ Enjoy nature while strolling through the grounds
・Carefully visit the auxiliary shrines (such as Aramatsuri-no-miya)
・Receive amulets and Goshuin at the Kagura-den (sacred dance hall)
・Take photos and take breaks while exploring

Furthermore, including the nearby Okage Yokocho (shopping street) makes this a half-day (3-4 hour) course.
